Good Plants For Kids Projects

A question from a reader:What are good plant seeds to use for a kids craft project?

I need one that grows/climbs a thing they stick in the soil of their pot. The pot will be the size of a seedling pot. I need something that isn’t too expensive to buy the seed because there will be several kids doing this project.

Bean and potato come to mind. you could do sunflowers easily, also, but they don’t climb. Peanuts are fun little plants but they don’t climb either. i grew peanuts when i was a kid and the harvesting was fun.

Sweetpeas would climb and be cheap seed to buy. They would also smell good.
